Thanks!

There’s a lot for me to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. One of those things is you – those of you reading this post and my blog in general and past, current and future clients.
You have taken time out of your day to read my blogs, make comments, provide feedback and contact me both online and offline.
You have and continue to trust me to represent you and guide you through the process of buying and selling your home.
You connect me with friends, family and co-workers who are thinking of buying or selling their home because you trust I can help them.
For this and many other reasons, I am grateful to you.
To sum it up in one word…
“Thanks!”
Sincerely,
Danilo

Want to go to the Capital Home Show this week? Is money tight? Don’t worry…I gotcha covered! I have tickets to the Capital Home Show which I am giving away for free to clients and LoudounScene.com and LoudounForeclosures.com readers.
“Nothing in life is free!”, you say? You’re right. Here’s what I ask in return…
1) I have a limited supply of tickets and they’re first-come, first-serve so if I don’t have any more left when you contact me, please don’t be angry with me
2) When contacting me, you have to give me your real name, home address, working phone number and actual email and have to be OK with hearing from me once in a while regarding what’s going on with the local real estate market
If you’re still interested, click here to contact me for your free Capital Home Show tickets. And don’t forget to put in your home address so I can either mail them to you or drop them off at your front door (I will drop them off to you as long as you live in Northern VA and not somewhere like Richmond).

Brambleton Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series Around the Corner

Brambleton’s Sizzlin’ Summer Concert series is right around the corner… The concerts will take place at the Brambleton Town Center Plaza in front of Fox Cinemas on various Thursday nights throughout the summer.
Here’s the line up:
July 2 – Jah Works (reggage) I’ve seen Jah Works several times and they’re great. They play all over the DC metro area including the eastern shore during the summer months and have a huge following.
July 16 – Doug Segree (rock/modern rock)
July 30 – Crowded Streets (Dave Matthew tribute band) I’ve seen them once before and it’s hard to believe you’re not listening to the real Dave Matthews band
August 13 – The Reflex (80′s cover band)
August 27 – Junk Food (alternative rock cover band)
The concerts are fun and a great way to spend a Thursday night. And don’t worry…they’re not too crazy so it’s safe to bring the entire family (or not if you want to do a date night).

Come check out and support local artists such as Marie Straw at the Reston Art Gallery and Studios (RAGS) open house this Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 12pm to 5pm.
The open house will feature the work of Marie Straw and other local artists and will have your typical art show munchies – wine, cheese, pastries, cookies, sodas, water and of course, wine.
The gallery is located at Lake Anne Plaza – 11400 Washington Plaza in Reston, VA. Lake Anne Plaza offers plenty of other things to see/do while there as well so you can enjoy other things while there, not just the art open house.
Hope to see you there!

Enjoy the silence…

It's been kind of quiet here on LoudounScene.com due to the holidays, family gatherings, lots of cooking and cleaning and work (yes, buyers are still out there buying and homes still sell during the holidays). Hopefully you, like myself, had a good month and a chance to take a little break from the daily grind over the last week or so.
But that break is short-lived and it's back to the daily grind… Several posts will be coming out right after NYE. They will discuss the Loudoun County housing market including inventory/new listings and buyer demand/home sales numbers and trends. There will also be a 2008 Loudoun County housing market "year in review" post.
And keep an eye out for a post about a mortgage scam that homeowners should keep an eye out for – it's spreading throughout the country and has made it to Loudoun.
Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season and see you in 2009!

Cycling and Raising Money for Diabetes Research

Come join me and 1200+ other cyclists from across the Washington, DC metro area in raising money for diabetes research at the American Diabetes Association (ADA) 2009 National Capital Tour De Cure (formerly known as the Reston Tour de Cure).
The 2008 National Capital/Reston Tour De Cure was the 5th largest ADA Tour De Cure event in the U.S., raising over $489,000 for diabetes research. We're hoping to make next year's event even more successful and fun by improving the event and raising at least $560,000.
To do that, the ADA National Capital Tour de Cure needs your help. Whether you're a sponsor, team captain, team rider, individual rider or a volunteer with the 2009 Reston Tour De Cure, your help is needed and greatly appreciated.
The ADA Reston Tour De Cure committee and staff know that everyone is watching their budgets, especially as of late. But there are others ways to help without donating money out of your own pocket such as raising money or volunteering your time.
Registration for the event is now open. The event is being held June 14, 2009 and will start at the Reston Town Center in Reston, Virginia. The Tour will most likely go through Reston, Herndon, Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg and Purcellville as it has in years past.
Here are the various links to information on how to register and how you can get involved:
- sponsorship opportunities
- become a team captain/create a team
- join an existing team
- individual rider
- volunteer
Also check out the 2009 National Capital Tour de Cure's LinkedIn and Facebook groups and Myspace and Twitter profiles. We'll be posting the latest news about the Tour and what's going on behind the scenes including committee meeting minutes, sponsors, route information and other updates. If you have feedback or suggestions, don't hesitate to email, leave a comment or send a "tweet" anytime.
P.S. The National Capital Tour de Cure is always looking for help with getting the word out about the event and raising money for diabetes research. If you'd like to help spread the word or promote the event, feel free to leave a comment here with your contact information or contact me directly via email or on my cell.
